Regional models

Regional model is ideal for large areas or whole country-RF planning. Low to medium resolution database is used for RF network design and pre-design. Regional model dataset typically includes several layers - DTM, Clutter, Vectors, Text labels, Orthoimage. There are four options of Regional models – Basic, Standard and Improved Regional models and Pre-design regional model.

Basic regional model

The geodata sources are:

  • SRTM data for DTM processing
  • Topographic maps with scale 1:200 000 for clutter and vector data processing
  • Satellite images: Landsat7 with 15 m resolution

The cell size of data model is 100x100 m.

Standard regional model

The geodata sources are:

  • Topographic maps with scale 1:100 000
  • Satellite images: Landsat7 or Aster with 15 m resolution

The cell size of data model is 50x50 m or 100x100 m.

Improved regional model

The geodata sources are:

  • Topographic maps with scale 1:100 000 and 1:50 000 for densely populated areas
  • Satellite images: Landsat7 or Aster with 15 m and IRS with 5-6 m resolution for densely populated areas

The cell size of data model is from 20x20 to 50x50 m.

Pre-design regional model

Pre-design regional model is based on topographic maps with scale 1:500 000 and SRTM data.
The cell size of data model is 100x100 m or 200x200 m.
